Excellence: Our talented teachers, staff and administrators have built a tradition of excellence in education in Oconee.  We need to continue and enhance these efforts, but also do all we can to achieve excellence in other areas: operations, athletics, and technology.

Experience: As an education major with a strong business background, I bring diverse experience to this role.  I have chaired or served on the boards of more than 15 community organizations, and am familiar with how not-for-profits and for-profits are run and achieve excellence.  After more than 25 years in business, I have also seen firsthand the opportunities available to Oconee graduates, including the potential for them to become educators themselves, to find careers in professional fields, or to enjoy jobs that require technical or industrial skills.  It is critical we have programs in place that prepare all of our students for their future.  In my time on the school board, I have seen how important it is to have continuity and knowledge and look forward to returning to the board.

Efficiency: I believe our school system’s operations should be managed to save taxpayer dollars and provide fast, efficient service for our students and the professionals who support them.  My background in transportation, logistics, shipping and business provide me with a unique skill set in this area.  I have already been working closely with system executives in this regard and will continue to do so.
